Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars 23th Match Scorecard | BBL 14
Full Scorecard: Ben Duckett; It was tough at the start, and I wanted to be there until the end. It didnโt work out that way, but I was lucky to have Cartwright and Maxwell coming in. That shows the depth of our team. We know we can rely on each other and wanted to take the game deep. Stoinis played brilliantly and took all the pressure off me.
About Cartwright’s six in the last overโit was incredible, way farther than anything I hit! Heโs been smashing the ball in practice, so Iโm really glad it worked out for him today.
The derby was amazing. The crowd was super loud, and I hope I get another chance to play in one again.
When it comes to my batting, I try not to let my ego get in the way. I canโt do some of the things the bigger hitters can, so I stick to what works for me. Luckily, I got some sweeps to come off today.
As for the Ashes in Australia, itโs still a long way off. Right now, Iโm focusing on whatโs in front of me.
Talking about the Stars’ playoff chancesโweโve played some good cricket but havenโt been consistent. Tonight was similar, but winning games like this is huge for our confidence. If we keep pushing and keep this momentum going, weโll believe in ourselves.
Itโs been a strange competition for me. I was joking that if I could just get past the first ball, Iโd be fine!
