Jason Behrendorff’s Big Bash Journey Continues with Renegades
Left-arm fast bowler Jason Behrendorff has joined the Melbourne Renegades on a three-year deal in the Big Bash League (BBL).
Behrendorff, 34, was the top wicket-taker in the 2024-25 season, grabbing 17 wickets.
He played 106 matches for the Perth Scorchers, taking 140 wickets and winning four titles with them.
His move happened after the BBL’s new player movement window opened on Tuesday. This window lets teams sign free agents and trade uncontracted players or draft picks.
Each of the eight teams could sign up to 10 players. But the Scorchers, who missed the playoffs, chose not to offer Behrendorff a new contract in time.
“Moving to Melbourne is something my wife, Juvelle, and I have wanted for a long time,” Behrendorff said. “It’s a city we both love, so getting to continue my career here is a blessing.”
“I’m really excited for this new chapter with the Renegades, not just for me but for my family too.”
